Game Changer: Home Edition FAQs

Game Changer: Home Edition consists of three distinct games, based on three popular episodes of the show - BINGO, NAME A NUMBER, and SAM SAYS. Two teams of 2-4 players each compete for points in each mini game, and at the end of three mini games the team with the most points wins!

Game Changer: Home Edition was co-designed by Sam Reich himself and veteran game designer Joshua Balvin.

Yes! You can find all tiers and whether or not they are exclusive to the Kickstarter campaign under “Rewards” section here.

“Kickstarter Exclusive” means items that can only be obtained through our Kickstarter campaign. You won't be able to get them anywhere else, even after the campaign ends!

The following briefly explains each deck’s theme:

• Braniac is the most challenging Things of any of the decks
• Shenanigans is additional “sillier” content
• Grab Bag most similar to the base game content as a way to expand Thing decks.
• NSFW is well, NSFW!

A high-level explanation of each game can be found on the Kickstarter page here, but keep an eye out for upcoming episode releases of Smosh Games (released May 10th) and Parlor Room (released May 14th) that will feature game play of Game Changer: Home Edition!

Yes! The Ultimate Edition box was intentionally made large enough to hold all expansions and additional items.

The only item that would need to be stored separately is the play mat, since it is an add-on.

Please refer to the following for sleeve needs, depending on the tier you backed:

• Game Changer: Home Edition: Select one Home Edition Bundle add-on
• Game Changer: Kickstarter Bundle: contains 1 expansion deck (Community Deck) and the Winners Deck in addition to the Home Edition deck. Select one Home Edition Bundle add-on, 1 Card Sleeves - Things (100) add-on, and Card Sleeves - Challenges-Sized (100) add-on.
• Game Changer: Ultimate Home Edition: contains 5 additional community decks (Braniac, Grab Bag, Shenanigans, NSFW, Community) and the Winners Deck in addition to the Home Edition package. Select one Card Sleeves (Ultimate Edition Bundle) add-on.
• Winners Deck: If purchasing separately and not within the Ultimate Home Edition bundle, select one Card Sleeves - Challenges-Sized (100) add-on.
• Expansion Deck(s): If purchasing separately and not within the Ultimate Home Edition bundle, select 1 Card Sleeves - Things (100) add-on per expansion deck you are purchasing.

If you’d like to make any adjustments to your rewards tier or add-ons, you can do so following the steps in this Kickstarter article.

Awesome! If you pledge for the custom audio message from Sam, there are a few rules that we need to follow:

• The message must be 30 seconds or less.
• The message may be for personal use only, and is not to be used for public or commercial purposes. This means no endorsements or advertisements will be allowed.
• We reserve the right to work with you to edit your request if there’s anything that could put Sam or Dropout in a difficult or uncomfortable position, so please be considerate when drafting your request.

Finally - though you can script what you would like Sam to say, we suspect you’ll enjoy your recording more if you don’t provide an exact script! Instead, we recommend outlining a basic concept and important details. For example:

• If you want a game introduction, include your friends’ names (or nicknames)!
• Wishing someone a *Happy Birthday? Provide the person’s name, birthday, age (if you want), and a detail or two about them.
• *Marriage proposal? A name and a few talking points would be helpful
• You get the idea :D

*Please note that we do not have a guaranteed delivery timeline for these recordings (yet), so please keep that in mind if drafting a message that is time-sensitive!

At this time, Game Changer: Home Edition is only being released in English. That said, if you let us know what language you’re hoping to see, we will share your feedback with the team for future consideration.

The game is designed for groups of 4 to 8 people to participate.

The game is designed for those aged 14 and up.

That said, the only NSFW component of the game is the NSFW expansion deck, and there are ways in the game to decide not to use specific cards if a player feels that it isn't appropriate.

No, this game does not include any use of generative AI.

Yes, shipping fees will be collected later this year, after the campaign ends and closer to fulfillment. On the Kickstarter campaign page, you can find an estimated shipping range alongside each reward tier. Please note that this range will not include potential customs or tariff charges, but those charges (if anything) will be shared at a later date closer to fulfillment.

These will be collected during the pledge manager stage of the campaign, closer to fulfillment. Typically this means 2-3 months after the initial campaign closes. But it can vary depending on the production timeline.

Once the campaign funds, we’ll be focused on getting rewards to backers as soon as possible. If you aren’t able to make a pledge during the campaign, we completely understand, but at this time we do not have any estimated date of when the game will be available in the Dropout Store.

However, there are two things that are important to know:

1. If you do make a pledge, you won’t be charged until at least June 5th or the week following – because of this you can still make a pledge now, and cancel it before the campaign ends if you change your mind.
2. If you pledge even $1 right now, you will lock-in your chance to upgrade and make a full pledge for at least a month after the campaign ends.

The game will not be available for wholesale at this time.

Totally fair question!

Could we make Game Changer: Home Edition without a crowdfunding campaign? Probably! But we have a lot of reasons to use Kickstarter instead:

1. We want to make this with you, not just for you. If we go straight to store shelves, you won’t get a chance to see the game until it’s 100% complete. That means the final game has no room to incorporate your feedback or suggestions. And, as you’ll see when we launch our Kickstarter on May 5, we’ve got very specific plans for involving all of you in finishing the game!
2. We want to make sure you’re as excited as we are! We’ve never made anything as ambitious as Game Changer: Home Edition, and launching on Kickstarter helps us make a game that you want to play. It also helps to ensure we’re making the right number of copies.
3. We want more people to join the fun! Kickstarter has its own huge community of passionate party game players who don’t know about Game Changer (yet), but we think the game would be a blast for them too. This is also why our Kickstarter is a game itself - we’re releasing new challenges for the community daily (and sometimes more). More to come on this soon!

We think it’s going to be a blast, and we hope you’ll join us.

The plans for if and when the game will be available in the Dropout Store are dependent on how the Kickstarter goes!

Additionally, at least two of the game editions (and most add-ons) are Kickstarter exclusives and will never be offered outside of the campaign.

We won’t definitively know when (or if) the game will be available for sale in the Dropout store until after the campaign.

Additionally, a number of the game editions are exclusive to this Kickstarter campaign, so if you want to be sure you’ll get the games available in our Kickstarter, now is the only time we can guarantee they’ll be offered.

Follow the steps in this Kickstarter article to make any changes to your existing pledge!

While you can’t make more than one pledge for a reward tier, you can use ‘Add-On Rewards’ to add additional copies of all versions of the game to any pledge during the campaign. Get as many copies as you want!

Add-ons are a la carte additions to the existing rewards in your selected tier. You can grab add-ons to get exclusive merch, upgraded and enhanced game extras, or extra copies of the game for family and friends.

Not all game or reward-tier components are eligible as add-ons!
